mikhailkost Says:

Feb 4, 2010 - Damn, now that's music. I hate how people listen to such crap these days. This is what they should be listening to.

keckonomics Says:

Feb 5, 2010 - I hope one day Lenny Pickett comes out in that suit and dances on SNL. haha

polishblacksoul Says:

Feb 6, 2010 - I'm completely crazy about that song. It's a real joint!!!

wfglaser Says:

Feb 6, 2010 - Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby!

r5t6y12 Says:

Feb 9, 2010 - This is for bobfunk11. Actually T.O.P. started in 1970 before L.P. was even old enough to play professionally.

bobfunk11 Says:

Feb 9, 2010 - Wow :-) bob

longfade Says:

Feb 12, 2010 - I think you just contradicted yourself there. The fact that finding anything even remotely this honest requires effort on the listener's part says all you need to know about the pathetic state of today's music industry. Don't kid yourself - music HAS changed, for the worse, and legendary bands like this would never get signed by a major label now. Hell, they'd have a hard time finding club gigs at this point.

hithatrollz Says:

Feb 16, 2010 - Going to see them in March and i'm pumped! Btw I'm 16 and i say to hell with music on the radio, unless it's TOP!

DyvaNaye Says:

Feb 16, 2010 - Good God yes...WHAT IS HIP these days....

alkh3myst Says:

Feb 18, 2010 - There's no substitute for actually being able to play.

jimraw1 Says:

Feb 20, 2010 - TOP started in 1968. They played in the Bay area and signed with Bill Graham's San Francisco Records in 1970.

steve89z Says:

Feb 22, 2010 - amen to you young brother.modern music is awful!

steve89z Says:

Feb 22, 2010 - is the lead singer pickett son of wilson pickett?

SFFOOL76 Says:

Feb 22, 2010 - I think it's Lenny Williams , who also had a solo career.

Valerio960 Says:

Feb 23, 2010 - listen CRAZY FUNKY by minicillo

RixGuitar Says:

Feb 26, 2010 - Lenny Williams is the lead singer! Lenny Pickett is on tenor sax with the dancing feet! He is the musical director for Saturday Night Live and has been for years! Legends

Nupeman1972 Says:

Mar 2, 2010 - One of the greatest bands of all time !!!!!!

GFOConnor1 Says:

Mar 5, 2010 - @MikeyCapp -- Great memories indeed! In fact, I was the Stage Manager of the Brown Concert Agency that brought Tower of Power in back then, so it's particularly wonderful to hear that others still vividly remember the fruits of our labor, some 33 years later. Still occasionally spinning them on vinyl, here ... :-))

Hawkfrost96 Says:

Mar 6, 2010 - Hell yeah!

MrBlues2jazz Says:

Mar 7, 2010 - No, Lenny Pickett is the Sax player dancing. his signature- no relations , besides being white and wilson is black, Lenny Williams is the Lead singer.

dadduorp Says:

Mar 13, 2010 - This is like James Brown's backup band on steroids. Can you imagine being in a small club hearing this? I'd be breathless! Kudos to the cameramen for excellent angles at just the right times -- unlike some of the crap you see on DVDs nowadays of live performances -- shots of drummer's feet while the guitarist solos, audience pans while the singer's peaking...

Sax4Him Says:

Mar 16, 2010 - You said it! I've hated "modern" music video production for years. It drives me nuts when the shots change every second too....

SebSk Says:

Mar 17, 2010 - Yet they barely show the incredible bassist playing an incredibly fast and cool bassline CONTINUOUSLY!

Freespeech1776 Says:

Mar 17, 2010 - Nice, wish it was 73 again, one of the best years. Life goes on, they were so good at the time.
