Mar 31, 2009 - You're right RocketRodder, this contra goes one note lower all the way down to B below the cello's C as it has a b-footjoint (regular flutes have a c-foot). It not only expands the ambitus of the instrument but also works as a stabilizer for several high notes and makes for a more even sound of the different registers.

Sep 11, 2009 - most harmonizers are designed for singers, so the range is limited. i use the voice live for harmonization no higher than the low octave of the c-flute. everything higher sounds weird. (haven't tried the voice live 2, though.)
